My students are going to be a part of a first year program in the Agriculture Education Department. These high school students will experience hands on learning and real life training in something that they are passionate about, Veterinary Science!
The Veterinary Science career field has a projected job growth of 9% over the next 10 years.
My students are ready to enter the work force prepared and full of knowledge! With to expected growth within the industry, the job opportunities are there!
My Project
These students will be using the typical equipment used by a Veterinary Technician, such as clippers and nail trimmers and surgical room set up equipment, such as scalpels and bandage removal scissors. They will understand how to give basic vaccinations, and complete sutures. Along with gaining soft skills, such as communication with customers and front house management.
We are working to make these students ready to graduate high school and move into the work force.
It is my goal as a teacher to give them every opportunity to be the best that they can. The requested equipment will be used on the daily to provide hands on learning and experiences, along with the partnership of the local veterinarian.
