My Students

Do you remember how exciting everything was when you were eight? Think of collecting rocks or learning to tie your shoe. You might have ridden your bike for the first time without training wheels! My students share that excitement every day as they grow as readers, play with their friends, and solve early multiplication problems. They are inquisitive and curious kids, wanting to learn everything about the world around them.

My students are creative third graders, discovering their love for reading.

From country farms to city dwellings, they come to our classroom every day with unique life experiences and passions. They love learning about animals, reading fairy tales, playing soccer, and talking about sharks. Third grade is a year of excitement and change. I hope that you will choose to be part of it!

My Project

Third grade is a special year for reading. Kids are transitioning from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." In books, this translates to smaller font sizes, fewer pictures, and more chapters. While this reading milestone is exciting for many students, it can also feel intimidating.

It only takes one book to hook a child on reading for life.

Finding books that excite them begins by looking at their interests. My students absolutely love dogs and cats. They have checked out every digital and print book owned by our school and have read through the books in our classroom. With your donation, you would give my students dog and cat books that would set them on the path to becoming life-long readers.
