Documenting Student Learning by Displaying Student Work

My students need to see the artwork they have created in order to build their confidence as young artists, and a bulletin board is a fantastic way to display their work and document learning.

My Students

My students range in age from pre-K-5th grade, so always have abundant energy! Students are excited about working with the materials and about the learning that will be taking place. Being able to choose between a stool, a chair, or standing would also help my students with self-regulation and give them a more authentic studio experience.

At the elementary level, students need to be active and continue to develop balance and refine their gross motor skills.

My students are no exception!

My Project

Bulletin boards are important in order to display student work and document learning. When student work is displayed, students, parents, and administrators can see the different types of learning that happen in the art room.

We will display student artwork and documentation of the learning going on.

This will encourage students to feel pride in their work as artists, and they will be able to see what other students in the school are learning. Parents will also be able to see their children's artwork displayed. This will help them see how much learning happens through art.

In addition to displaying artwork, we will also display photographs of student work in progress, as well as student reflections on what they learned.
