In my class this year, my students are very active, engaged in learning, and overall a great group of students. My school is a Title I school, which means that a majority of the students are on free or reduced lunch. The school that I teach at is located in a rural part of Aiken County, South Carolina. Many of the students do not have the best home life, so our school is their security, and we are their uplifting voice every day. I spend a majority of my day encouraging my students to be the best they can be and motivating them in their education.
Having a document camera would easily allow me to project papers and books onto the SmartBoard. There have been plenty of times when we have been working on an interactive read aloud or a worksheet and I needed to project it to the board. Often times, I have to take a picture of what we are doing then email it to myself in order to project it. With a document camera, my students will become more engaged in my lessons and will enjoy learning how a real life item is easily projected onto our SmartBoard. It will also be a great time saving tool since we are always busy learning.
