My students need cameras to begin a yearbook club to document their time in elementary school.
This project expired on December 26, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
"What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that will be gone forever, impossible to reproduce."
- Karl Lagerfeld.
Remember your yearbook? Think about the memories that come rushing back every time you see it. This the time for these children to make the same memories.
Our school is an inner city school that flourishes every year.
Whether we are raising test scores, involved in the community, recording great attendance or smiling because our hard work has paid off, we do it all to the best of our ability. We have 300 students, but because these students are so involved in before and after school programs, athletics, volunteering, etc.... we feel like 1000 kids.
Our school is good kids. Kids that deserve opportunities that they might not always get. Opportunities to grow into amazing members of society. Opportunities to expand themselves into print and document what they have accomplished.
Our elementary school is an experience and a place where creativity, learning and activities flourish. We volunteer, we work hard and we create memories that should never be forgotten.
These cameras will give our students the ability to document an entire year in photographs and then put them in a yearbook.
They will be starting a yearbook club to first photograph and then design a yearbook that every still will have the opportunity to buy.
Creating something that no one else has done is an important lesson that every child should cherish and remember.
By creating a photograph, a yearbook, a memory, our students will be giving everyone a chance to remember great parts of childhood.
