My Students

I teach in a low income area. I have approximately 35 students per day. In the mornings I teach fourth graders and in the afternoon I teach third grade. Subjects that I teach are reading, literacy, and social studies.

My students always try to give me 100%.

However, some students come into my room seeking more than just learning curriculum. They come in to school needing someone to talk to, someone to show them love and support and someone who cares.

With students like these it makes meeting goals even more wonderful! They are so proud when their reading grades improve or when a reading level is far past what they have worked on all year long!

Please help support my students and give them comfort they might not have on a daily basis!

My Project

The purchase that I need help funding is a document camera for the projector and computer. This will help with showing documents over the projector screen in my classroom. The students will be able to visually see documents such as pictures, manipulative materials, or even video clips through the computer. This will enhance student success in the classroom. They will be able to use these documents or materials that they visually view to make connections to text, connections to world, and connections to self. My 3rd and 4th graders spend the entire year making connections that will increase knowledge depth! This document camera will be such a wonderful addition to the classroom!
