Do you want immediate feedback on your work? Do you want to be able to see what everyone is doing? A document camera would help display student work, 3D objects, texts, and samples for a microscope!
I teach 8th-12th graders at a public school.
My high school is a high needs school with about 85% of the student population being African American and 75% of the students coming from low-income families. My students are part of a supportive learning environment where interactive learning is used constantly. I love watching their teamwork and scientific inquiry skills grow over the school year. The students have great pride in their work, and it is encouraging for the students to see the work of their peers and get feedback. I can also use the document camera's microscope function and show the students samples all at once. I'm excited for this new school year and the chance to reach more students with science and technology!
Every student will be able to follow along with the current activity I'm facilitating because it will be projected on a big screen in front of the room. Document cameras help increase participation in students, and allows students to share their work more quickly. Students can also use the document camera to zoom in and display their work because of the ease of use of document cameras, which allows for greater student ownership in the learning process. Also, if an activity is difficult I can walk students through an example very quickly for all to see.
Every donation will help my students have this technological support.
Students will be able to see microscope samples, 3D models, and text and photos from textbooks or worksheets. Document cameras have been shown to increase student engagement and improve student ownership because student work can be immediately shown, given feedback, and the student's can use the technology themselves.
