My Students

My sixth grade students are caring and kind. On a daily basis my students struggle to meet the rigorous demands of the 6th grade curriculum.

My goal is for them to become self motivated learners who come to school feeling like they can succeed.

When they are motivated to learn, they work very hard. School is not easy for them, yet they arrive each day smiling and prepared to take on the day. My students are motivated to learn by using technology.

My Project

Most of our writing assignments start out on paper as graphic organizers and/or drafts. From there the students type and submit their assignments on Google classroom. Being able to type is a skill that is necessary as a 21st century learner, yet many students struggle with it.

Looking down at the paper then back at the computer screen can be challenging for many students.

They will often lose their place and have to spend time finding it again, causing them to need extra time to type. Document clips will help them to be more successful with their writing and reduce their frustration when typing.
