This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology won't replace teachers, but teachers who use technology will probably replace those who do not. Teachers compete everyday with technology. Document cameras will allow us to utilize a media that allows students to see in the moment action during class at any given moment.

Our school is a community of members who are empowered to persevere and believe that they are meant for great things.

The students show up and work hard every day. This is exactly what our students do everyday as they demonstrate their perseverance in their daily learning. Our students come with varied backgrounds and are so eager to learn and express their hopes and dreams. As a school, it is our mission to foster and teach kids how to overcome their fears or obstacles in order to climb and reach their goals and dreams everyday!

My Project

We are trying to put in place a Fluency Club before school. This club will have teachers that use the document camera to display sight words, fluency phrases, and leveled passages. So we will have Kinder through 5th grade students participating. Each student will get to attend the session per their needs.

These document cameras will allow for many students to be working in different groups for fluency.

Research connects the ability to comprehend with fluency. Our students will need to be able to have access to any given text while in direct instruction with teachers to improve accuracy, prosody, and automaticity.
