Help me give my students access to visually following along by watching the way I explain information by using a Classroom Document Camera, as well as a Sit and Teach Mobile Media Cart for the camera.
My 4th grade class this year is such a sweet group of kids. They are very loving towards each other and I see the ways they help each other not only in the classroom, but also on the playground. My students are fun because they are at an age when they can soak up so much information like sponges but also have different and unique personalities and learning needs.
I love that my students are all different and can learn to be themselves.
They are good at making friends and have funny stories to tell me after a weekend or holiday away. They are sweet and compassionate toward new students too!
My Project
"I'm a visual thinker, not a language-based thinker. My brain is like Google Images." A lot of my kids often need to see exactly what I am doing on my example page when teaching, so that they can learn and do the same. This is especially true of my students with learning disabilities. When given directions verbally, they often go in one ear and out the other.
"Visual-spatial learners need to SEE to THINK." If I could use a document camera to visually explain and show things that are difficult to explain on a screen, those students with special needs, especially, would benefit... not to mention all the students who are visual learners like me.
The reason for the mobile cart is to hold the document camera is because my classroom is not well-equipped with furniture, so I need some place that's small but mobile to put the document camera on order for me to use it to help my students!
