This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"WE NEED TO GROW OUR BRAINS BIGGER!"
My students would chant our classroom mantra every morning. This year, I want them to not only "grow their brains", but discover their own creative style.
I teach 20 boisterous and kind-hearted kindergarten students in Miami-Dade, Florida
We are a Title 1 school and all of my students are in the free lunch program.
Last year, many of my students came to school without socks or backpacks. Though they do not have access to many material things, they appreciate every opportunity to learn and explore their world. Read less
This year, I am determined to provide them with an exceptional educational experience. In order for this to happen, my classroom must have adequate resources to provide enriched learning. My students are exceptionally curious and more than anything they are excited about learning to read!.
My Project
This one piece of classroom technology can be used to actively engage students in the learning process. Visual learners will benefit from the use of a classroom document camera by seeing small items, text, demonstrations in a much bigger way. Hands-on learners can also benefit from the use of a document camera by allowing them to be the ones placing objects or items under the document camera and explaining what they are showing.
My school especially, is always looking at ways to maximize the financial resources that are available.
A classroom document camera can drastically reduce the amount of copying a teacher has to do, saving drastic amounts of time and expense.
In addition, a document camera will allow my students to become more engaged in the lessons and share their work with the class.
