Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students learn better with technology and with tools such as the document camera. The learning becomes hands on and enjoyable. Materials could be projected with this camera onto our big screen. I have an LCD projector, but I need a quality document camera.
My fifth grade students are eager to learn and fascinated with technology.
Many of them do not have computers in their home, and they love learning though technology in the classroom. A document camera would allow the students to integrate technology into learning, thus enhancing engagement.
My students are creative and inspiring. They love talking about going to college and sharing their math, writing, and knowledge with each other.
My Project
The document camera has many uses in the classroom. The document camera will allow me to model for every student. It is difficult to demonstrate math or any subject that uses manipulatives to the whole group, but the document camera will make this simple and will engage the students. Other uses of the document camera will be sharing pieces of student writing for group editing and revising, as well as displaying reading passages.
A document camera would allow my classroom to be a place where students no longer need to cram close together to see a demonstration and teachers no longer have to waste paper or transparencies.
The most important goal with this project is student engagement.
Students are not able to learn if they are not interested in and actively participating in their learning. The document camera will allow students to model and practice their learning with and for other students. Your donation will make this possible.
