My students are emerging writers, breaking the reading code, and grappling with difficult math concepts. They are developing new understandings about the world and desire to share these breakthroughs with their classmates.
I teach 22 students coming from diverse backgrounds.
We grow into a community of learners for two years. I am a 1st & 2nd grade looping teacher. My students enrich the classroom with their diverse cultures and backgrounds. Their prior learning experiences are just as diverse. My students vary in their background knowledge, language, and life experiences. Our school has 67% of students on free and reduced lunch, and we would appreciate any donations.
My Project
Overhead projectors are bulky and always in the way of at least one student’s view. My students need a document camera. What is a document camera? A document camera is a real-time image presenter. It will magnify any object under it and project that object onto our overhead screen. This will allow students to show what they know using manipulatives. Students will also be able to share their writing and illustrations with classmates where all can see. No more transparencies! Simply put the paper under the document camera.
A document camera will help me teach my students by showing them.
