My students are an amazing, creative, and energetic group of individuals. They all come to school excited to experience success and are ready to learn. They work together to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and safe for everyone.
They are passionate about art projects, protecting our Earth, making a difference, and enjoy learning new skills.
These students face many challenges. Our school has over 60% of the students receiving a free or reduced-price lunch. They work really hard and are eager to learn.
My Project
This Kodak document scanner camera will help students see step by step directions on new math, reading, science concepts, and more! Students will be working remotely from home for the first part of the year. This document camera will connect to my computer and allow me to demonstrate new material during our virtual meetings, as well as help record lessons.
When using the Kodak document scanner camera, I will be able to project the work that I am doing on the computer screen.
This way, students are able to follow along and see all of the things that I am doing to model the lesson and the independent work.
Last spring, our district switched to remote learning and were faced with many struggles. One of those struggles was explaining math over virtual meetings. It can be difficult for all students to see what is happening when I try to teach while using a whiteboard during a lesson. The content is unclear or too far away. When content it is projected on the screen, everyone is able to see and follow along.
It will be used in all of my class subjects during this remote learning time. Once we return to the classroom, it can be used by students to create videos, show academic videos and even take pictures!
This is a must-have tool in any classroom, and it will help me out during this time of virtual teaching.
