Document Camera Meets More Than Just The Eye!

Help me give my students a quality document camera that can allow them to focus on what I am showing them to do when completing an assignment.

My Students

My school has a high percentage of low-income students of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The community does its best to provide for students who need supplies, food, and clothing. United Way donates basic school supplies at the beginning of the school year. Channel One donates snacks and bags of food to those who need food. Our school helps students get coats, boots, hats, mittens if they cannot afford them.

My goal is to be able to display documents for all students to see by using a quality document camera.

My Project

Document cameras are what some teachers are using in place of an overhead projector.

Students can interact with their peers by placing their writing under the doc cam and have the class work together to practice proof-reading.

A timer can be shown under the cam to assist students with time management. Interactive whiteboards are being phased-out in our classrooms. The document camera can project writing paper, graph paper, or any kind of template onto a dry erase board.

By using a document camera, more things can be displayed easily for students to see, including three-dimensional objects. Many times websites I use with my students on the Smart Board don't work, and then I have to show my students what to do in the workbook, but it's harder for them to see.
