Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My art students are curious little explorers from a vibrant neighborhood. We're just a stone's throw from Dallas's Bishop Arts District, the perfect setting for a great art program. They're flexing their wings and working to build skills that will make them lifelong, independent learners, creative thinkers, and confident problem solvers. The Art Room is a wonderful place to develop those skills as well as perseverance and self-control. They have the ambition and curiosity, now they just need the tools for the journey.
My Project
Using a document camera allows everyone to see at the SAME time. Breaking down art projects and demonstrating them in small chunks helps everyone to be successful in the Art Room.
When we can all see, we can all succeed!
Document cameras also help bring the class together to play art games that increase understanding of the principles and elements of art. We already have a projector, so with this document camera we'll be ready to go!
Texture rubbing plates are a must in any art room. We'll use them to add visual texture to drawings and to add tactile texture to three-dimensional clay projects projects. Just imagine how excited these little guys will be to create a clay pot with the texture of wood grain or brick!
