Mrs. S. from WI is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a document camera.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Being a teacher, at times, can be like taking on a parental role. You provide guidance, support, and most of all, love. Now, imagine providing this care to 35 children. How does that affect the quality of the support given?
Every student wants to feel special.
Personalized learning is the hallmark of my classroom. 68% of my 3rd graders are below 1st grade reading and math proficiency, and we have a lot of work to do. I create personalized lessons so my students can receive the attention they need and deserve.
A document camera, for my classroom, not only means a more effective teacher, but also more efficient material usage. To make copies for 35 children on a daily basis is wasteful and time consuming. Having a document camera would mean worksheets can be projected on our SmartBoard, and read alouds can be projected for the whole class to see. Our valuable instructional time will be enhanced by my children's ability to project their work for the class to see.
This project will improve our classroom by providing accessibility to a large group of students.
I will have the ability to demonstrate work, model lessons, and provide the opportunity for peer sharing. None of these valuable tools will be available without a document camera. My school does not have the means to provide this technology, and unfortunately, my students do not have time to wait. Our goal is to make 1.5 year's worth of growth in reading and math--you can help us achieve that!
