Document Camera for Visual Learners
Help me give my students a document camera that will help them visually and follow step by step instructions to work on challenging mathematical problems.
I teach at a Title I school in National City, California where 100% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students live in a low socioeconomic area and many come from single-parent homes, but regardless of the many challenges they face, they come to class full of energy that they feed into our positive learning environment.
Every day my students show great examples of what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible. They know the importance of staying focused and that in order to achieve their goals, they need to work hard.
The ELMO document camera that I am requesting will help me show students how to complete various assignments.
It is the ultimate visual aid for my visual learners.
I am confident that this resource will allow me to take teaching to another level in the following areas: Reading- One copy of a book will be sufficient if the whole class can follow the projected story, Demonstrate new skills - especially in math, students can focus on explicit step by step instructions., Project exemplars- I will be able to project good examples of student work and allow students to explain their thinking, Display pictures, graphs, and maps - visuals support data, and Complete graphic organizers - I will be able to demonstrate how to use graphic organizers.
The ELMO document camera is an invaluable resource. Your donation will help me to get the ELMO and give each child a great chance to succeed.
