Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a wonderful, inquisitive group of students. We have recently changed an old cafeteria into a new science lab and the kids have been so excited to use it. I teach 6, 7 & 8th science and I see every middle school student every day. My kids are amazing individuals that are excited to learn and explore science. We are a small school with many challenges but my students try their best to overcome those challenges.
With a new science lab, the students are looking forward to getting more in-depth with science.
We now have the room to have more hands-on experiences and project-based learning. Living in an agricultural community gives us many opportunities to make a difference and reach every child every day.
My Project
When working with delicate equipment such as microscopes, balances, air tracks, 3D printers, and other machinery there comes a time for necessary quick repairs. This project will give me and my students the tools and ability to make these repairs quickly and efficiently.
Students will learn life skills on how to do basic repairs and they will be able to transfer this knowledge to their everyday lives and help with simple repairs and add student involvement to campus improvements.
We will be able to further use the tools to engineer and build creative science projects to create solutions to everyday problems.
