My Students

I teach 7th-grade mathematics to general education and inclusion students. My students live in an area of high poverty and do not always have access to the educational extras they need to truly succeed in school. My students are hard workers who love to learn.

My Project

My students often struggle with multi-step mathematical expressions and equations. Many of my students are visual learners and work best when they are shown step-by-step processes in solving problems. Students benefit from seeing the teacher's examples, as well as other classmates' examples, and a document camera will allow me to show a variety of examples to further their learning.

A document camera will allow me to provide not only visual guidance but also opportunities for interactive mathematical practice during lessons.

Document cameras are a must in the modern math classroom. It will allow me to transform individual assignments into engaging lessons for the entire class which leads to more discussion and interaction between students, as well as great opportunities for visual learning.
