Entering 6th grade is always full of so many emotions and changes. It's always fun to watch the students start out as shy young kids, and blossom into outgoing and crazy fun preteens!
My students are creative, inquisitive, and love learning!
They love classroom projects that are hands-on, engaging, and require them to create their own unique solutions. They question the world around them, and continue to work until they have found an answer. Their love and excitement for learning is what makes me love teaching!
Our school is a low income Title 1 school. I want my students to come to school not lacking in materials to learn. School should be a place where they feel safe, comfortable, and not want for anything.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. We do a lot of group work, group discussions, and hands on projects. We learn how to search for answers and new ideas, instead of expecting someone to tell us one answer. My kids are truly some of the best, and I am always excited and lucky to get such great learners every year.
My Project
Each student in my room has access to their own chromebook thanks to our wonderful county going 1-1! This allows us to use extensions for awesome accommodations our students with learning needs can use. However, the few headphones I do have for the kids to borrow and use these extensions are old and falling apart.
The donation of these new headphones would go a long way to add to the learning environment.
We currently have 1/3 of our grade that requires reading accommodations. The chromebooks allow each student to have the same access to the material no matter their disability. However, the chromebook is not the only thing needed to make the accommodations work. We need headphones for the kids to listen through.
We are hoping to receiving 3 sets of these headphones so we can keep a set in each academic classroom. This will help cut down on the amount of headphones that are lost while transitioning to a new academic class.
