Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach brilliant beautiful 5th Graders. This will be my second year with my babies as I was their 4th grade teacher as well. They are so full of life and fearless. Most of my students have matriculated through school together for most of elementary; this has helped created a family unit. They have grown up together and have the sweetest memories of their school and each other. My students are so inquisitive which makes for an excellent learning environment.

My Project

Auditory Learning is so important to the classroom. Alone it is not that popular but in conjunction with visual learning, it can be a strong tool in the classroom. This year has been difficult without headphones so far because the internet has so many useful apps and tools to aid in students learning but due to a lack of headphones, my students aren't able to listen and watch those resources.

By gaining these resources, my class will be greatly enhanced.

I can have small groups running with great internet resources. I can have a group that i'm working with that doesn't have headphones that wont be disturbed by students using those learning tools aloud. Also an echo dot will be a useful tool for as well. They can play educational games as well as Alexa can assist with their learning through her questioning function. Overall these materials will enrich my classroom environment and make it more technology centered.
