Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school every day eager to learn and explore new ideas. I teach at a Title I school, where 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students work hard to reach the high expectation set my not only myself, but also the school district. However, our learning is inhibited by lack of resources.

Many of my families cannot afford to purchase school supplies for their students and this causes feelings of inadequacy and emotional distress.

My Project

In our classroom, we use technology on a daily basis. We use our Chromebooks to watch educational video clips, complete activities on quizizz and kahoot and complete listening to reading activities during reading workshop. We are in need of headphones to ensure that our computer volumes are not a distraction to our peers. .

In order to perform better on assessments and class assignments, we need headphones.

During our technology based assignments, we are often forced to turn on captions or only allow volume on one computer in order to not distract others with all computers going at a different rate. Please consider helping us hear only what we need as individuals.
