My Students

My kindergarten class is so special. They come to school every day, ready to learn and grow. They greet me with a smile, and are ready to follow "The Cougar Way", our school motto. Our students do their best to "Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible".

Kindergarten is a year full of "firsts" - and I want to do my best to make it a year of "successes" as well.

These students will grow so much over the year, both academically and socially. They come to school each day, eager to learn and do their best. It is my goal to foster this interest and love of learning by creating a sense of community within our classroom.

My Project

In my classroom of 24 kindergarten students, we learn in small groups. During both literacy and math instructional times, students rotate to a variety of centers. During this time, they use iPads to access a variety of educational software. These programs provide personalized learning opportunities for each student; ensuring they learn at their own pace while achieving classroom goals. Having quality headphones would allow my students the ability to use this educational software, while minimizing disturbances to their classroom friends. these headphones will also be used to listen to books on CD. By listening to stories read to them, students are able to access literature they might not choose for themselves. It also models good interpretive reading and voice within the books. and it's just nice to relax and listen to a story!
