My Students

My drama club students prepare and perform a large stage production in the spring every year complete with costumes, sets, and props. Throughout the production, students learn rehearsal techniques, set design and construction, and public performance. These students develop and exhibit great leadership skills by being involved in all aspects of the production both on and off the stage. They create original scenes, characters, and sound cues to use in their performances.

My students choose to be a part of the drama club and the annual drama production every year at our school.

These students work hard to prepare a production that they can be proud of. They take ownership in their production, work collaboratively, and problem solve on a daily basis. By providing this program at our school middle school students are able to find their voice and express their talents through reading and drama. These students return year after year to be a part of this amazing program.

My Project

The drama club uses recorded sound cues, live singing, and live music accompaniment to enhance our productions. My goal for this project is to provide a quality experience in drama for my students and expose other students in our community to a special drama production. Our plays are performed for the public as well as numerous elementary and middle school students. Due to the large number of audience members that observe this production each year we rent professional sound equipment to enhance our play. This is always a highlight for the students who participate in the production as it makes the event a more professional theater experience for them.

We are in need of an iPad to help enhance our drama club production and make our sound cues come to life!

The iPad would assist us in controlling the sound cues for our production as well as helping us prepare. Students would be able to create visual and aural recordings of their rehearsals and evaluate their performances before the show! The sound equipment and the iPad will allow students to create original recordings to also be used in the live production.
