My students are exceptional in every way! I work with elementary age students with various disabilities such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, seizure disorders, and language impairments. They work extremely hard to meet the high expectations that we set for them but need extra assistance and resources.
All of the students are in regular classes and receive additional academic and/or behavioral support from myself to help them achieve grade level standards.
They are the hardest working students in the school! We strive to never give up!
My Project
My students are captivated by magazines. The majority of the students are visual learners and therefore love TIME for Kids magazines because they are in color and have engaging graphics. They also love these magazines because the articles are written about current topics. Many of these students are motivated to read articles about Science as it aligns with their natural curiosities to explore their world! The current intervention programs that are available to me do not spark the enthusiasm that reading a magazine does. I am striving for them to love reading and therefore need to present them with the most engaging articles.
