Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Who are my students? I could say quite a bit about each and every one of them, but I'll keep it short. They are your typical school-aged children. They like to laugh, dance, talk, and much more. Most, if not all, come from low-income households, but that does not stop them from coming to school each day prepared to work hard and grow their minds. They all have such unique personalities and I'm grateful to be able to call myself their teacher.

My Project

As an Intervention Specialist, I often have to get creative with how I present content and materials to students. This population of students needs to see the world in more than black and white, as these visuals may be there only entry point into a lesson. I currently do not have access to color copies at work and it limits my abilities to provide students with vibrant materials.

Help me bring color back into a black and white world.

This printer would save me time from going over black-and-white copies with markers to add that pop that my students need. The color printer would allow me to deepen explanations and use an abundance of details that often get lost when only printing in black-and-white. The additional cartridges will ensure the color keeps flowing in their worlds!
