My students need Dash Robots and their accessories so that we can bring music into the coding and robotics opportunities that we want to offer.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love extended learning opportunities. They are an incredibly intelligent and collaborative group that enjoy learning through various modalities. They are eager to create anything that shows off what they are learning and what they are capable of. However, due to the limited resources that we have, I can only offer so much.
These students crave more!
I want to provide as many of those extended learning opportunities that I can. Hopefully, through the generosity of others, that is possible.
My Project
My students love to code! They have numerous opportunities through free online resources like Hour of Code and Google CS First. However, we lack tangible resources to extend these learning opportunities through devices, like robots, that operate through coding. They collaborate and persevere on a regular basis when they receive coding instruction. They learn problem-solving, cooperation, and communication skills whenever they work together during these activities.
More importantly, my students love music!
Once per week, they attend music classes with a specialized music teacher that teaches them musical theory, as well as instrumental practice. Learning music open their minds and allows them to process their cognition in alternative ways. It forces them to think about problems in a different way and find creative solutions.
For these reasons, we are asking for support. The Dash Robot created by Wonder Workshop is an incredibly versatile device. The accessory packs that we are requesting will allow us to use the Dash Robot to its fullest capacity, including its musical capabilities.
There are 5 different apps that are available on the iPad that students can control the robot with. One of those apps is called Xylo. Through the app, students can use coding to program Dash to play music on a xylophone. It's like composing music through coding! We aspire to become the 21st century robotic Bach!
