Do It, Dare It, Share It: Hands on Science

Help me give my students the opportunity of using hands-on materials such as marble runs, snap circuits, and plant stands to stimulate learning.

My Students

I teach students who are in the Advanced Learning Lab program for gifted students. They are generally curious, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners. They often finish assignments much more quickly than the average student and need extra materials to keep them engaged.

My students love to learn things on a deeper level.

They'll often look up topics on their own to learn more about a subject. They love to explore new concepts and enjoy opportunities to see the concepts come alive on something more than on a screen or paper.

My Project

My students will use the supplies I'm ordering to increase their science knowledge in hands-on and stem activities. I know the students will enjoy learning about force and energy using the car tracks and the marble run. I fully expect funding for these materials to increase student attention and focus. We're so grateful for opportunities like this to supplement our learning.

With these new materials, my students will become more engaged as learners.

Because these gifted students often finish their assignments so quickly, they will have more options to participate in science centers. We'll also be able to learn more about plant structures as we grow our own plants using the plant stand and grow light.
