DIY Graduation Stoles

Help me give my students their grad stoles for completing the AVID program. Premade stoles are very expensive and the students cannot afford them, the items in my cart will be used to make them instead.

My Project

My specific students are a diverse group of kids, many of whom come from low-income homes. They have worked hard academically in the AVID program to become eligible for post-secondary options, including the scholarships they are going to need to pay for college or trade school.

Being a part of the AVID program means that students wear a stole to designate themselves and bring attention to their hard work.

However, these stoles are very expensive, more than $40 a piece if they are premade when we purchase them. This year, rather than purchasing them for $40 a piece, we have elected as a class to DIY them instead. With the materials in this project, we will be able to make 40 stoles for less than $10 apiece.
