My students need Sewing machines, and sewing kits which include, scissors, pins, pin cushion, seam ripper, sewing needles, and thread. My students also need beads, string, paint trays, brushes, paint and canvas.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a 100% poverty neighborhood, many of them immigrants from Hispanic countries and Puerto Rico. Our school is a small neighborhood school, trying to help our students and their families to learn and become more successful. Being a small school in a big city can be very difficult at times. Many students do not have supplies for school, and teachers/school need to provide them on a daily basis.
Our school has a very high percentage of students that are below grade level in Math and also reading.
It is important to be able to teach them lessons and skills needed to be successful in the real world and life.
My Project
These materials will be used in an enrichment club that our school offers during the school day, several times a month. My students will get a chance to learn a very important skill that they should know, which is sewing. Students will get a chance to learn how to use a sewing machine and also sew by hand.
These materials will make a difference in my students' lives because they will get a chance to experience something that they do not get to do in the everyday classroom.
They will get a chance to let their creativity free.
Along with the sewing skills, students will use paint supplies and jewelry supplies to get a chance to learn how to create things on their own.
