Help me give my students Boogie Board writing tablets, rainbow writing paper and sight word step mats that will allow my students to dig into sight words in a fun, hands-on way!
My students are such a great group of kids! They come to school each day full of energy, excitement, and an eagerness to learn and have fun. I work at a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students also take a food backpack home on the weekends. We are located in a small, rural town in the foothills.
My students come to school each day eager to have fun and learn all at the same time.
They love to play and tell stories and use their imaginations. They love to listen to stories and are excited about learning to read! They are just beginning their school careers and are so excited about learning and exploring. They deserve the best that we can give them!
My Project
Every day I try to give my students multiple ways to engage with their learning. We do lots of hands-on activities during whole group and small group time. The materials from this project will be used during small group centers and whole group for sight word learning. We are requesting Boogie Board writing tablets, rainbow writing paper and sight word step mats that will allow my students to dig into sight words in a fun, hands-on way!
These materials will help sight word centers become more engaging and fun and in turn, help students retain more sights words in their memories!
I want sight word center time to become something students look forward to and something that is very meaningful during their day. Sight word knowledge is an important key to learning to read. The more sight words students know, the easier reading will be.
I want my students to have fun while learning sight words and the materials from this project will go a long way to helping that happen! Students will be using these materials daily during sight word stations and independent centers. The sight word step mats will be a wonderful way to review learned sight words as a whole group. Students will be learning and not even realize it because they are having so much fun!
