My Students

My kids walk into my room every day ready to do their best. They know they are my "Super Stars," as I refer to them, and, together, we are going to move mountains! Nearly seventy percent of them come from homes that qualify for free or reduced-price lunches, and my students are also from different countries around the world, with over thirty countries represented at our school.

My students carry their differences proudly, and I remind them regularly what Elastigirl from The Incredibles said, "Your identity is your most valuable possession.

Protect it." My students are unique in every way!

My Project

I'd love to have a set of privacy shields to use during times when focus is key. Each year kids seem to be able to focus less, so finding solutions to help them is part of my job. The privacy dividers I have picked out have positive messages written on them, such as "you can do it" and "keep going." I thought that would be a nice touch to not only help the kids focus by blocking off surroundings, but also they give them encouragement, when they are struggling.

Learning to work through the struggle is key to helping kids be resilient when life gets difficult; and these shields will help them learn to keep going.
