Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a Title I school where all the students receive free breakfast and lunch every day. Many of my students come from low income families, so I have to establish a classroom that provides my students with the necessary items they need to thrive in their learning.
As a teacher, I have to provide an environment where my students can feel safe and motivated to come to school to learn and do their best every day.
My students are eager to learn and do their best every day. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful.
My Project
As an educator, I can expose my students to different perspectives of others, whether positive or negative, they need to know how people may perceive them in the communities.
Diversity in the playground and in centers is the key for my students to have an open mind into experiencing, exploring, learning, and empathizing with others.
Puppets, playground equipment and other multicultural toys are essential tools for my students learning, exploring, experiencing and expressing ones abilities to empathize with others. These materials will provide my students the ability and strength to understand cultural diversity and help socioeconomic status, inequality, as well as equality within their community and around the world.
