This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My second grade ICT students are lively and willing to learn. They are diverse learners who love to laugh and they care deeply about each other. My class is developing lifelong skills by talking and working together.
My school is Title I school and all students come from a low income households, so I am always looking for ways to support my students' growth, development and learning styles.
My Project
Diversity makes us stronger! One of my goals this year is to promote diversity within my classroom library.
Representation matters and it is important that my students see themselves in the books we read together as a class.
I would like to have picture books that showcase diverse characters that look like my students and stories that share their unique life experiences.
Please help me add books that will offer a diverse representation in my classroom library and allow my students a greater access to high quality books with diverse characters.
