My Students

My students come from all different backgrounds with all different heritages. We have multicultural week, but I would love to read them books each week with characters of different ethnicities. This will help my students to see how children just like them are accepted and how we can be accepting of others.

I would like my students to be able to connect with the characters in these books, and understand that outside of school other children experience the same diversity!

My Project

The world is such a diverse place - why not teach students about it in school WITH a book! I want to be able to show my students there are kids just like them in books, and they face the same things they face!

I will use these books to read to my students throughout the school year.

We will be able to have conversations about the different books, and why the children may feel the way they do.

During our morning meetings, we have Whatcha feelin' Wednesday and these would be perfect books to implement, read, and enjoy then!
