Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a diverse, motivated group of first and second graders. They inspire me daily through their thinking and creativity, pushing me to find innovative and engaging ways of learning. They push me to break through barriers and fight for a well rounded, hands-on education.
My students come from different backgrounds with a majority of them coming in speaking another language.
Despite their differences within each other, they find different means of communicating and collaborating, nurturing a community in the classroom.
My Project
These English language learner kits and listening center will help my students begin to grasp the language and continue their success in reading, writing, and all other areas whether it be academic or in the real world.
Learning a second language is hard but this group of students can conquer it all.
With your help, my students will master a second language and learn to enhance their reading and writing with a listening center and writing activities. The activity cards will help them grasp English word by matching pictures to the words. The listening center will allow them to listen to books of my choosing on their own. I hope to support them with a plethora of resources that are engaging, motivating, and fun while also learning and expanding their minds at the same time.
