"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." - Aristotle
I teach Occupational and Life Skills curriculum at a large, urban high school.
My students have a range of disabilities including learning and intellectual disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, autism, as well as health and other physical impairments. Many of them are also English language learners and almost all of them come from low-income households. My students show greater enthusiasm and achievement when learning is interactive, interesting, and includes technology and high-interest reading materials.
The desks in my classroom are older than my high school diverse learners! I am asking for 4 new desks to help us replace some of the ones we currently have. I managed to gather old tables/desks throughout the building in order to have enough for my classroom but they are not holding up to daily classroom use.
My current desks and tables are falling apart and are wobbly!
They often have to be adjusted multiple times a day and my students have a hard time writing on them.
This project will supply my classroom with 4 new desks that will last us many years to come!
