My Students
I serve a truly diverse group of learners. Although they are all so different, what they do have in common is their commitment to succeed. Every child feels personally responsible for their success in my class and sets their own academic goals.
My kids are truly exceptional.
They have established such a strong and caring community within our classroom, and they come in every day motivated to learn without excuses. Every student holds themselves and their peers accountable for doing their best work. They are amazing and inspiring.
My Project
Have you ever walked into a bookstore and picked a book right off the spinner? I want my students to have that experience of "finding themselves" in a book. I want my students to feel the power of being able to pick a DIVERSE book from a revolving bookshelf.
We are an international school.
There are over 30 languages spoken, and, in my classroom alone, there are 8 different languages spoken.
Students need a bookshelf spinner that can feature new, interesting, and diverse books, and they need books that represent them and feature stories from their lives in our library.
