This is my first year teaching and my wonderful students come from a smaller district. This means our library has lots of amazing books but I want to be able to grow my classroom library to include more diverse interests for my students. Each and every one of my students deserve to have access to books that are unique to them and their interests to help increase the love of reading and learning.
My students are incredibly dedicated and kind students that deserve to have access to a variety of books that interest them.
My students love having choice in what they read and I want to be able to provide them with that opportunity. They read a variety of different types of books but I am looking specifically to get some graphic novels, novels in verse, as well as some more contemporary texts.
My Project
These books are to help build my 1st year classroom library. It provides lots of books that my students will actually have interest in. I also need more copies of The Great Gatsby for my 11th graders to be able to each have their own copies rather than share.
These books would help students have access to a wider range of books they are interested in.
This project would allow me to have more diverse books and enough copies for all my students to have their own book.
