My students need books, books and more books! They need books that teach and celebrate diversity! They also need two Evo robots to push that book excitement even further.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth grade students are smart, amazing and hard working. They are so curious and really want to learn all they can! They have a thirst for learning, especially when they are in charge of their own learning and can research topics they're excited about!
This is a Title I school, high poverty area, large immigrant population and 100% of my students get free lunch.
But that doesn't stop them! They have a thirst for knowledge and are always ready to learn anything!
My Project
This project has three parts. The first part is providing diverse picture books to use as spring boards for discussions about diversity. My students come from immigrants form various countries. These culturally specific texts will support my ELL learners in identifying themselves in literature. The next part is small sets of chapter books students can use in literature circles for discussions among themselves.
I chose books from many different cultures to open the global world for my English Language Learners.
The last part is technological- Evo robots. Students will use these to create plot maps to excite more students about the literature through game board creation that can be done when stories are done.
