This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom community is full of energy, curiosity, and hard work. My students often ask "Why?" because they are eager to learn more about the world. Their curiosity inspires me to bring more real-world experiences to the classroom.

These active learners are eager to engage through concrete and real-life learning experiences.

Students can benefit (and often need) concrete and real-life examples to help make math concepts come to life. They are eager to engage in hands-on activities to help them learn and grow.

My Project

Our classroom library is slowly growing and I would like to have texts that highlight our beautifully diverse world. Our classroom is in need of texts that represent the people in our community and our world.

A diverse classroom library will give students the opportunity to see themselves and others in the texts that we read.

I believe that this is crucial for students to affirm who they are and where they come from. I also think it's crucial that they have the opportunity to read about many types of people with many types of lived experiences so we create a more inclusive and compassionate world.
