My Students
My students can be described in one word, DIVERSE. Some of my students are refugees and others are from just down the road. Wherever they come from, their drive for learning about one another is strong.
Each day, we experience and learn about how our differences make us special.
At our school, almost half of the students are from other countries. My students are future ambassadors of cultural differences and I want to give them resources that will support them in their future.
My Project
Books are one of the most important items in my classroom. Each day, my students explore the stories written inside of them. We study, analyze, and learn everything we can about books.
I teach at a multicultural school and because of the diversity in my classroom, I need texts that connect to the differences of my students.
Not only will students be able to relate to the content in these books, but I will be able to use them to teach my entire class about the unique cultural variation at our school. The addition of these books will be very beneficial and educational for my diverse 5th graders.
