My Students

I work as an art specialist with kids in a title one elementary school. Students come from diverse cultures and speak multiple languages. Students at our school love coming and creating in the art room. I enjoy working with students to apply the concepts they are learning in their grade level classroom and school character skills in their art creations. Students work in teams and create collaborative work as well as self-reflective work.

My Project

The books requested will help create a class library where my students can see themselves and their potential. The resources in this cart are intended to help provide students with resources for self-reflection and awareness as they read and create art that builds the understanding of themselves and those around them.

As students become more aware of themselves and other through the processes of reflection and creation, they will have a better understanding of their own worth and the strengths they have that will help them persevere no matter what comes their way.
