I have a class of energetic and enthusiastic learners! We are a very diverse class coming from different financial backgrounds, different countries, and different home lives. In our classroom we are a family. We love each other, respect each other, and look out for each other. Just like home, I want our classroom to be a comfortable and safe environment for students can grow.
All students deserve the best classroom learning environment, and I need your help giving that to them!
We spend more hours together in our classroom than we do with our families, which is why I want to make our classroom a comfortable environment that provides academic, learning, and team building opportunities!
My Project
My students come from 12 different countries and even more cultural backgrounds. In first grade, we know that everyone has different set of strengths, experiences, and needs that they bring to the table both academically and personally.
It is important for students to see their skin color, culture, and heritage in the books that are in the classroom library.
In the few diverse books we have read, their eyes light up when they can say "Hey they look like me." I want to give students the feeling that they are represented in our classroom books. I would love to expand the diversity of my books, and you can help me do it!
