I teach a close-knit group and kind group of third and fourth graders! Each day, my students walk into our classroom full of life and ready to learn. They are truly what inspires me to be the best teacher that I can be! They are energetic, have a love of learning, and love to be creative! My students are always eager to challenge themselves and to learn new things!
When my students enter our classroom, they know they are loved and that they are safe.
Our classroom is a place where my students can be confident in their abilities and potential. My students know that it is okay to take risks and make mistakes because mistakes are how we learn! Our motto is: Learn, Excel, Succeed, Challenge Yourself!
My Project
My students need diverse books available to them in our classroom library. By reading diverse books, my students will be able to gain the perspective of others who look differently than they do, or who have experienced different challenges than they have.
The books in our classroom library should represent both the students inside of our classroom and the students all around the world.
The diverse books requested in this project will challenge the ideas my students have about the world around them. We will be able to have meaningful discussions about their ideas and how they have changed as a result of reading these books. Diverse books will enable my students to be more aware of their responsibility to be a global citizen of our world.
