My little learners have some big challenges when it comes to school. Many struggle with fine and gross motor skills, speech, intellectual challenges, or behavior struggles. No matter what their identified disability or challenge, one thing is common. My kids love art!
There is nothing to spark creativity in a child like some bright colorful supplies laid out in front of them with a blank canvas on which they can create.
I am a huge believer in process art over product art and letting kids learn as they make. This project renews our art supplies that start to dwindle by the end of the school year. Markers, paint sticks, stickers all get used during the year. It also asks for new things that my students have shown interest in such as paper collages, rubbing crayons, and supplies that include sensory during art.
Young learners require hands on learning and nothing encourages that like new art supplies.
