Help me give my students an opportunity to become successful in math and science by exploring both subjects through hands-on materials and interactions after discussing our lessons so they can see it in action.
My students are part of a Title I program, where most receive free breakfast and lunch. These may be the only meals they have for that day. Many students live in hotels and we also have students from military families.
I want to be able to make my classroom an engaging environment of exploration and inquisition through hands-on manipulatives and activities, where they are not intimidated with math or science, but develop a love for it.
I want my classroom to be a place where students look forward to the next topic to be learned, while integrating some interactive activities, games, experiments, or books to make learning fun. Please help me supply my class. Thank you.
Learning about space through Space Bingo, Earth Science through the Water Filtration Kit, Physical Science, and Life Science, as well as, Geometry, Multiplication/Division, Fractions through the Fraction Stax Set Manipulatives, and other topics, is so important to help students experience something that may lead them to a choice for their future path in life.
Learning happens in all forms but many times, younger students are more visual and hands-on learners and these materials give them an opportunity to experience math and science outside of a curriculum based lesson.
By students seeing the progression of the life cycle of a frog, as shown through the Frog Development Plastomount, it may help those visual learners to see it in 3D than just 2D in a book.
My students will enjoy these science and math materials that can help them understand a concept in a deeper format. They will then be able to apply their new gained knowledge to their state assessment.
