Distraction Free Learning
Help me give my students a classroom set of noise cancelling headphones to rid them off daily distractions.
The Scop Owls are a diverse group of students, with a wide-range of academic abilities but all share a love of reading. "Comfy Cozy" is a favorite part of their day when I chose 7 students to sit around the room with pillows and bean bag chairs. They work hard to grow and learn as a group. They spend time making sure everyone feels included. They are a strong group of fourth graders who constantly look for the next challenge.
Whether students put them on to read their story revision, to concentrate on a difficult math problem, or to dive into a world another that another author has written, I hope to give my students an option for a less distracting classroom. I also know these bad boys will come in handy during state testing season. Allowing each student the opportunity to eliminate some of the daily distractions, can allow them the opportunity to focus on the task at hand, and to complete it to the best of their ability. I mean, who couldn't use a little more silence in their day.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
