My Students
My 2nd grade students: We are a Title I school. About 95 percent of our student population receives free or reduced lunch.
Our students come from modest or low-income families, they have limited life experiences.
Many of the students have challenging situations at home or have emotional challenges.
My second grade students are very energetic and eager to learn.
Even though they have many situations at home, they come to our classroom with a positive actitude and a desire to learn as much as possible in all areas.
They like activities that are authentic, enriching and engaging. My second graders are happy to come to school every day and they look forward to explore the world around them.
My Project
During this challenging times, my students need to have at least some resources to be able to continue progressing through this distant learning situation. Some of their parents lost their jobs or can't leave the house to go to work. I even worry about their families having enough food to feed their children. If a child needs paper or pencil to complete work, and their parents are not able to buy it (due to a difficult financial situation) I have to do something to provide some relief for these families.
